Here's a prospective new DAW:

ASUS P4P800 Deluxe motherboard,
P4, 2.4G processor;
512MB (to start; more memory later),
2 MAXTOR 7200 80G drives, (programs and audio)
SONY DWU14A combo burner,
nVidia GeForce MX4000 (128MB) graphics card,
M-AUDIO DELTA1010LT soundcard,
CAKEWALK-SONAR-PRODUCER EDITION,

I'm building my own in my old Dell case (P2 450; Win98, etc.). A characteristic was always the loud fans. In researching new components for this case, I've had questions about what could be done to make this better but not put the computer in jepoardy in regards to temperature.

As a result; I've been looking at power supplies and have arrived at 3 choices: Zalman CNPs700-Cu, Ultra ULT30940
500 Watt, Antec SL450 but I still have questions as far as performance and reliability.

Has anyone had experience with these or perhaps some other power supplies that are quiet and reliable?

Thanks for all replies!

I'm using the Enermax dual fan. They are rated conservatively, so when it says it's a 400 watt supply it really is a 400 watt supply. No huge sag at rated output. This P.S. was advertised as "quiet" when I bought it a year ago, and I am not disappointed. After I installed it, I had to replace my CPU fan because it seemed so loud by comparison.
