Anyone know of a source for replacement pots, for the Alps used in the 80's boards? Mine..M-600.

Thanks,

Ron

Well..these are old parts..not to be confused with (old farts) like me!

I do have an inquiry in with them...not holding my breath!!!

I'll post a pic. as these are unlike any I've found.

...

Phone response is instant, and you can order on the spot. You don't even have to know the part #, just tell them what part for what machine. Email may never get a response!
:spank::eek:;)

Thanks Reel Person. I just called..nega-tori! as I suspected! Not even a cross ref.

...

Were they able to look up the part #?
Did they tell you it's no longer available?
Did they just play dumb?
Do you have the manual?
:spank::eek:;)

Yesterday I phoned up and asked for the Pan pot on an M520, and in a minute he gave me the price, part number and shipping cost.

1. Didn't ask.
2. Not exactly..said they don't have them. I asked for any reference numbers. He said they have none.
3. More like, My favorite word for the day is...no!
4. Yes I have the manual.

Sounds like I need you to call for me! :facepalm:

Like these. All the ones I find have the heavy (Handel Bars) at the bottom. with the smaller (Pin) connections above.

Maybe if you tried a different tact:...

Look in the manual, get the exact TEAC part number,... make absolutely sure you're looking at the right number, then give them the part number on the phone and ask if it's available.

It surprises me a lot that they seemed to shut you down right off the bat. I've called numerous times with non specific requests, they look it up and everything, most items I've wanted of this nature were still available. Some parts maybe not. The M600 is one of their newer consoles, so I'd think they have the most chances of getting a hit.

Take some better pics with some better lighting so I can see the resistance and the taper type...it'll say something like "LINA", "LOGA" "LOGB" or something. Looks like 100k? Is that an EQ pot?

Then measure the distance between the larger tangs as well as the height difference between the three contacts and the larger tangs. I have scads of Teac/Tascam PCB's with pots on them from the 80's and may have a match.

sweetbeats,

There are no other markings, other than the ALPS logo. The distance "between" the large tangs is approximately 9/16. the distance center to center the contacts and tangs is 1/4.

I bought a second M600 console that has some damage to several input modules. I thought if it was fees-able money wise. I would replace the broken "pot's" about 9 or 10 are broken or bent.

Calling Teac/Tascam parts is usually hit & miss, depends on who you talk to, some are better and more knowledgeable than others. I called recently to get a simple part for an M-1516 mixer (model was introduced in 1992). Just needed some covers for the knobs in various colors. I was told they are not available, and only the knob itself could be ordered- I would have done that, but they only had orange knobs, and there is no orange on the M-1516. Not the end of the world, but wouldve been nice if they still had them.

Guess I lost sweetbeats..must of been my photo shoot!:D

Yea, I'm learning bout Teac/Tascam. I wonder if you call Teac..hang-up then call Tascam would you talk to the same person?:rolleyes:

I might be parting out a m600 it has some orange. If you still need them. I probably won't find any "pots" for a 4 channel module at this rate.
