Posting MP3's on a Web site

I am just getting my first music web site together and wanted to know if there were any tips, do's don't etc. before posting up my first MP3 file.

I notice that other sites have LoRes and HiRes MP3 options. How is this done?

Hi,
it is the bit-rate of the tunage for streaming audio issues....the issues being wether you are on dial up or a high speed connection...

Dial up connections are better served with the lower bitrate (smaller file size) because it will alleviate streaming audio buffering issues....

Highspeed connections (broadband...T1...etc.) can stream higher quality higher bit-rate (larger file size) audio (and video)...
they can also play the lo-fi stuff too but, that is up to the end user....
