Hi,

I have an mr8 and I just wanna be amazed at how the quality of stuff that is recorded on it is so great. Post songs.. I like anything that has distortion.. lol

I really wanna get some ideas on how recorded drums and guitars sound on the mr8. I wanna compare.

please!!

Pretty damn good

Dave52, those songs kick ass, especially Stand Your Ground. Good quality and I love the production of the guitars panning and left and right.

Cheers...!

Thanks very much, yeah I'm really pleased with it all. I finished my album last weekend, so I'm gonna take a short break, then start writing again. I might swap out the songs and upload some different ones. I'll post here if and when I get round to it.

VF160 Debut CD

You can check out my tracks of my bands (Goodwin) debut CD for examples of it recorded: http://www.meetgoodwin.com/audio_new.htm
this links to 2 tracks off the CD. You can also check out another track at the Fostex artist portal

Every single track was recorded with the FOSTEX VF160. The tracks were flown into Sonar for mixing. There was no PC recording at all. I love the Fostex VF160. Rock solid performance never a hang up or crash. We have received good reviews on our CD from internet reviews and local press.

Best Regards,
Daniel

Daniel, I had a listen to the track over on the Artist Portal (I was over there anyway to see if any bugger had listened to my track). I'm really liking your pop/rock sound, and it's a very well produced piece too. Good stuff mate.

bsr2002, I listened to the first couple of tracks (I had heard the 80's Thing the other day). You really have that 80's sound happening. Your stuff sounds like an 80's movie soundtrack (I'm sure I said that the other day). Nice one.

I have 3 demos I recorded with my mr8. No drum tracks though, as I don't have a drum machine or anything as of yet. It's guitar, bass, and keys. The track "Until that Day" was my first song recorded so it's not the better one, but overall the ideas are there in the songs.

Hey, Thanks Dave

I did my growing up in the 70's and though I love the Classic rock of the time except for a few groups there wasn't much keyboards. So when the 80's came I sort of went crazy and that kind of style stuck with me on my original works. Still got alot of tweeking to do...

Again Thanks,
B

I record every single day on my MR8, but most of it I wouldn't let anyone hear! But some of it is ok, otherwise I'd quit...again. I haven't put electric stuff up yet, but search nwr for junplugged, I'm there too. Gotta go back and listen to the other stuff on this thread.

on my copy, you're levels were too high and had a lot of clipping I liked what I thought I heard, tho.

Yeah, the clipping was mostly on the drum track, levels were way too high. Sounded good when I was drunk though. (hee hee)

Wurd.

This is a sample of a song my buddy and I recorded yesterday. I know the guitar is crappy, because it wasn't recorded well. I just told my friend to play something so I could play drums along to it. I wanted to prove you could get a decent drum sound from crappy mics. It's nothing spectacular, but I think for two mics totalling 90 bucks through a 60 dollar mixer into n-track, it doesn't sound half bad. Oh yeah, it wasn't recorded with my mr8, but I do have one! ;-)

Yorgo, thanks for listening, I do listen to a bunch of prog rock (as well as other stuff).

I will give a listen to the other stuff posted here when I get home this evening...
