Im wondering if its possible to load my synth patches that I have on Propellerheads reason onto my Roland Lucina AX-09 . It has midi and usb connections, is there anything I can do to get my epic patches onto my synth? Thanks!

I don't think you will be able to load your patches specifically. They will be a completely different format from reasons. If your AX-09 has a built in sampler, you can sample your patches in this way. You can also control reason with your synth through midi and play your patches this way, but your computer would need to come with you.

Ahhh, is there a difference from using the synth as a controller with reason live than doing what you said with the midi? Or is it the same thing. So I could sample each key of the synth I want on reason and load em onto the same notes on my synth? Or would that be stupid, lol.

Using reason live would be done by using midi. So they are the same. But as for the sampling goes, I don't do much sampling with keyboards but I believe you can just sample one note and set the range of the sample on the keyboard. Don't know if it will capture the nuance of every note the way the sample was intended but I have done it before on my Korg M3.

I'm sure there are plenty of guys on here that have experience in the sampling department. Hopefully they will be able to respond more thoroughly about the sampling question.

The answer is no. Even if you could sample them you would need a lot of sample memory and skills as you would have to sample each and every note and even still you won't get the expressiveness that you would get out of the software. because to sample is to capture or record. So you won't have access to all the perimeters that the software allows. Were you just trying to have the board have the sounds so you didn't have to bother with the computer?
