Portable, simple digital recording device.

Can anyone recommend a simple, portable digital recording device? This is for use at conferences, rehearsals, clinics, gigs, etc. All I need is decent sound. I'd like an internal mic as well as a mic input. I was looking at the iRiver and the Pogo Ripflash. Any ideas, folks?
