this is my first post.i got a tascam porta02mk11 recorder.themanual that came with it is only for a 02,not mk11.it says its for both ,but it doesnt cover some of the parts on themk11,such as it has a guitar input,but when i go for that it doesnt record whats it for.also,do i have to have both mic/line level inputs to record on tracks 2&4?i went to tascam's web site and they didnt have a manual for my recorder.please help.thanx.
You're right, that's the Porta 02(std) manual, not the mkII.
The Guitar input is not complicated, just a 1/4" input jack that routes to Left and Right, simultaneously. It goes thru basically the same signal path as the A and B Mic inputs. If you're having trouble getting the Guitar-In signal, make sure there's nothing plugged into the Mic-A/B input jacks.
I dunno of any other "tricks" regarding the Porta 02mkII's dedicated Guitar-Input. There's no discrete level control or anything else on the Guitar-Input,... just a 1/4" jack.
Yes, you should activate both "3/L" and "4R" to record two tracks simultaneously onto tracks 3 and 4.
