Port question

I'm trying to get started building a studio, and I've got about a 800 dollar budget. I'm looking into a decent audio interface, but all I have on my laptop is a USB and and EXPRESS port.

Are there any decent audio interfaces with USB? I want to get a Firewire, but I don't know if there is an adapter to go to my laptop? What's the advice?

You've said $800 for your studio gear? Do you have anything other than the laptop yet? I guess I'm asking how much of your budget you're willing to put towards your audio interface.

I have my laptop, but that's about it. the 800 is to spread out....interface, monitors. I have mics and Sonar 4 Producer. I'm pretty much clueless on interfaces and monitors, though.
