I haven't had any luck in the so-called "AllExperts.com", so hopefully someone can help me here.
I am recording from a cassette stereo component system (JVC Brand) from LINE-OUT to the back of my Compaq Presario (5441) LINE-IN. Now, the software programs I have (for music) are MUSICMATCH JUKEBOX 7.0 and REALJUKEBOX PLUS. The current one I'm using right now is MUSICMATCH JUKEBOX 7.0. I am recording audio cassettes on to my computer using the LINE-IN from MUSICMATCH... . It seems like the sound quality is good because I don't hear the tape hiss in the background after recording and playing it back... BUT, there is a lot of loud pops and distortion when I play it back after recording a song. I set my recording level (from Windows 98) to all sorts of different positions but doesn't matter because it still comes out the exact same way, pops and distortion. If the recording monitor is ON or OFF it still does it. I set my recording from MUSICMATCH to ANALOG or DIGITAL/ERROR CORRECTION, 128kbps or WAV. and it still does it! I tried using REALJUKEBOX PLUS settings the same way and it still does it. I tried upgrading my soundcard and it still does the same thing, pops and distortion. I know for a fact it's not my cassette deck because it plays back normal audio before recording. I even opened my computer to make sure everything was connected properly and tightly fastened......... BUT it still does it!
I thought of buying the software by Roxio "EASY CD CREATOR 5" but not sure yet unless someone out there can tell me if it's worth buying for the problem I'm having, if it can take out the pops and distortion. My current RECORDING software is "EASY CD CREATOR" 4.02 VERSION.
I believe I said just about everything unless I missed something that you need to know.... then by all means, let me know.
I'm a blue collar Proud Southern American Redneck kinda guy so when you answer please use Laymen's Terms when writing back so I can understand it, I would be ever so greatful!!! Not much into computer slang so please be patient with me if I keep writing back to you 100 times because I don't understand it, just being honest! I love my out of print Country cassettes so I hope this works!!
Thank you for your time. God Bless and Semper-Fi!!!! YEE-HAW!!
