Hello every one, Long time music player, first time recorder here. Just Thought I'd visit the site in order to get some tips. Currently my Recording gear consists of a Fostex MR8 HD/cd that I record with. I've been recording my band in our garage but the Fostex falls short on recording features so I have been recording with it and then transferring the .wav files to my computer, and using audacity to do the best I can with mixing and EQ'ing everything. They come out okay but I know that they can be better.

^ what mjb said. Audacity is a useful tool for somethings, but multitrack mixing and recording... not so much.

Probably there are "deficiencies" in your base tracks that can also be remedied, but we'd need more info..
