I'm doing a remix of my old tunes because I'm not satisfied with how I mixed it before. I'm gonna do it one at a time. I'm using a tascam 788. I'm looking to improve the sound of each instrument by experimenting on the eq but I'm not very good at it. Can you give me suggestions on how to improve the vocals by the use of the eq on the 788. The song is called "All about you". thanks.

This recording needs some midrange. The guitar is indistinct without any body, pretty much the entire midrange is shot. The top end isn't much better... just a hint of a cymbal.

Too much muddy low end.

The guitars are out of tune in some parts and the vocals need more "balls". Other than that, it was a good attempt.

What model Fisher-Price cassette deck did you use to record this?

Just joking.

Ouch, that was pretty harsh. Perhaps you should refrain from being a jerkoff next time.

I said I was just joking. Overall the recording wasn't that bad--with a better mix it could go someplace.
