Okay so I ordered a blue snowball mic and overall it's been awesome but I want to know will a pop filter make the background noise decrease by alot? Because I have a loud ass computer fan and In every video I do I can hear the damn computer so will a pop fiklter help decrease this noise?
Well Sean, I'm not really sure how much you know about pop filters, but let me enlighten you.
Pop filters are used to
filter out plosives. Like when you say Buh-nana.
There are two types of pop filters: Metal and Nylon pop filters. What are the differences?
From what I know, people said that the Nylon pop filter "colors" the sound by altering high frequencies whereas Metal ones gives you a full-detailed sound of what you said.
Your computer fan's noise will NOT be reduced by the pop filter for it is your microphone the one that is picking it up as the fan is not blowing directly into your microphone , therefore making it not a plosive.
How do you decrease this noise?
Place the computer far from you, lower the speed of the fan, buy a computer that is capable to do things quietly, set the power management to Quiet Office if you're on windows. There will be alot more, so just go and google on how to make the fan quieter.
