so yeaterday i made song. (see my bullsh!t thread if you wanna know how it went).

i mostly wanted to try some things with mixing. (ive never mixed a track farther than basic effects and volume).

so, i recorded it onto my Korg D1600 multitrack.
then, i recorded each part from the korg separetly into soundforge.
(by seperatly, i mean, verse, fill in, emphasis, intro etc..)
saved it as a .wav file, and loaded them into seperate NN-XTs
in Reason. lined them up to match the beat, and went crazy.
added eq, delay, compressors, everything youd find in a nice rack.
it worked great. by far the best (production wise) song to ever come out of the studio.

if you have Reason, and your songs seemed to be lacking because of a bad mix. use reason as your recording rack.

im happy with it.
never had a problem.
i had it before i even knew that Red was record, so it took me a while to get going.
im still learning new stuff.
i just dicovered the undo-button a few weeks ago.
which is sad, considering i knew how to add effects well before i figured out the undo button (which is extremely simple).
it has some nice effects, (reverb, delays etc..)
id reccommend you try it out at a guitar center or somewhere before you buy it.

but, take this with a grain of salt,
its the only machine ive ever used, so i have nothing to compare it to.

cool..its seams to do everything i need it to do..i dont need much..plus i like to have a touch screen ...thats tight..i might go look to play with one this weekend so i can decided to get it or not by the end of the year..so i can get back on track recording..

and added some extra numbers on the price too lol.

korg replaced the d1600mk2 with the d3200......

yeah I know..but i will be cool with the D1600mk2 ..the D3200 really dont appeal to me since they added a beat session to it..if i wanted that i wound get the Zoom ..since they have been doin that forever with their recorders..

the D1600mk2 will do me just fine..so LAzy you need to hit me up with a good deal..I think i can get one from this guy for $700 if he havent sold it yet..

i don't have a d1600... nothing with 16 tracks for 700... i can get just about all the newer models though. let me know...

let me know the price range on the new models that you can get..so i can see what you got..

That's a great idea! I've never thought of using reason as a recording rack. I'll experiment with that idea for sure!
