Two RME ADI-8's into Frontier Dakota. StudioCat DAW, ACKUS. Mackie 24-8 for routing, effects sends/returns back to the DAW.

<Anything you wanna add would help (problems, benefits). Also, do you use digital/analog mixers and PCI/FireWire/USB interfaces?>
It's solid, no clicks, no pops, doesn't crash, lots of routing options.
No latency issues! (One of the pluses of hardware monitoring..

Just got my Aardvark 24/96
I'll let ya know how it goes

Just got a chance to play around with the computer tonight. Got everything installed and working. Took a little monkeying around to get all four channels to record simultaneously in Sonar (learning curve). Took even MORE monkeying around to get my two audio cards to play nice together. Finally, they do. The nVidia does all my TV, internet, CD, DVD, and mpeg crap and the Aardvark has full ownership of Sonar duties. I did have to run a pair of RCA cables out of the Aardvark into the line-input of the nVidia so I could hear stuff on the computer speakers.

Now to get a set of powered monitors!

Didn't really record anything worthy of the mp3 clinic yet.

We run two q10's and like them very much. I have used mackie mixers extensivly and find I like the aardvarks pre amps alot better. They have a real nice character to them and there very clear and transparent when compared to mackie's pre's which can be fairly stiff and sterile sounding at times, depending on the application.

I use a behringer mx1604a into my delta 1010.

The delta kicks ass. The behringer leaves a bit to be desired, what with only 4 mic pre's.

Works great for now though. Plus, being in college = not a lot of cash to burn. Will upgrade when i can...

I nuse a MOTU 2408 mkII in conjunction with an Alesis HD24 (all clocked with a Lucid GenX6) through a StudioMaster console. I like it just fine.:D

Aardvark Q10 Owner here.

I agree the pres on the Aardvark are better than you'd think they should be. I have achieved some very ncie results with them.

I use MOTO2408 mkII and a Spirit Folio SX mixer. Works pretty good, although I find the SX to be a bit hard to work with. Also, the faders feel quite plastic and cheap. But the preamps rock compared to my old Behringer 1604 :)..

ragta -- do you use the "direct outs" on the mixer as input for the MOTU? The mixer doesn't have sub-groups, does it?

yes I do, although the mixer does have 4 busses total. I'm thinking of buying a stereo lucid AD/DA and thus being able to record 10 channels at the same time. The mixer has 12 amps all in all.

I don't understand. How many direct outs does the mixer have? Can't you record them all simultanously with the MOTU? Whats the converter good for? Sorry about my ignorance :p

ah.
the mixer has got 8 direct outs(and 12 mono + 2 stereo inputs), L/R main outs, L/R sub mix + inserts on every monochannel which can also be used as a direct outs. So, in theory I could quite easily record 14 channels simultanously provided I have 14 A/D's. and the MOTO has only got 8 by itself, so I will be upgrading shortly :)
The most annoying thing about the SX is that it lacks tapereturns. Ok, it's a compact mixer, but all the same...:)

Soundcraft Ghost LE 32ch and ST Audio DSP2000 card (1 right now, 2 more in the mail together with a Mutec audio clock) --> 24 analog I/O and 3x2 digital

delta dmp3 into an audiophile 24/96.
Budget combo more or less. I'm pretty happy with the results.
