I bought one of those Yamaha DD55 drum things the other day and recorded a couple minutes of a few different to see how it sounds. This is recorded right out of the box with no adjustments or any effects/processing. I'm pretty impressed with the sound quality. Each pad volme can be adjusted individually - I think the cymbals should be louder. I listed this under comedy cuz my playing is a joke, I haven't gotten used to this miniture drum kit. What do you think of the sound quality of the DD55 - not my playing. Her's a poll

well...that was an unusual song.
the cymbals cut off prematurely.
yeah...your playing needs some improvement;)

I think the sucker needs to be put in context. I think ALL drum machines have potential, in the right context, recorded and mixed with care, and some creative verbs, etc. ...this one included

new toy!!!

no stuff on your site bub. I used the DD55 on all my stuff. It has some issues like hit pad-no sound. I took my 1st one back to the store and got another. Same problem but not as bad. Sometimes I need to go back and fill in the parts where the pad crapped out during recording. It does what I need it to do most of the time. My neighbors would not like it if I used REAL drums in my apartment.

I deleted the DD55 drum sound a few days ago, but there is a song there now with the DD55 used basically for a steady backbeat. It will take me awhile to get used to this miniature drum kit. Mine hasn't broke yet.
