PODxt & Tube preamp to warm the signal..

I ordered the PODxt today and I'm really impatient to get it...

I read at some fora that its a little harsh on High Gain sounds and i thought i could get a cheap preamp to warm the signal a bit.. what do u think and what do u recommend?

I think you're better served if you figure out why it doesn't sound "warm" to you already.....
 
I couldn't agree more with Blue Bear and I have a lot of Line 6 equipment and like it all quite a bit, but I am not sure I would ever buy anything that I didn't hear and have a chance to experiement with first. In this case I think you will be Ok because the POD XT is a cool little box with a lot of capabilities. Use your ears when you get and don't be afraid to turn the knobs you might be surprised at what you hear, it might even get warm in the room :-).
 
yeah.. but where i live i dont have the oportunity to try one.. so i have to listen as many samples as i can an read any opinions and answers... i order it and when i get it i have 30 days to try it out... and decide if its a keeper or not...
 
I agree with Blue Bear. I never use any warm plugins or so called warmer on my tracks. If you really want to warm your tracks, you should deal with the sounds coming out from your intruments and how well you played it. My first experience in warming my music is just to add a little bit of acoustic guitar strums. Its just a matter of experimenting. :D
 
Going against the grain here.When I've had to DI guitar, I ran my Digitech RP through a tube pre.Not magical but definately better than without.
 
A little reverb seems to fix the "warm" issue for me when dealing with DI.
 
The Pod actually sounds pretty damned good by itself. I don't see (hear) any need to send it through a tube pre to warm the signal. Of course it can't hurt tho... I actually use the Tube Preamp setting on the POD and run my synth through it to warm it up a bit... that works well.
