Pod to computer noise (newbie)

Hello to all,

I appreciate having the opportunity to browse and post here
on this site.
I am very new to the PC recording thing, so bear with me please.
I have a pod 2.0 which is connected to my audiophile 2496 using
an AV Link dual rca-qtr cable. My problem is, I gave a grounding type noise that I can't seem to fix. The noise is generated after the pod is connected and not before, so I don't believe it to be the Pod. I don't see any grounding issues either. Could it be my new cable, or maybe I just need to change a hardware setting somewhere. HELP!!
