Pod Software Version

Can any one tell me what is the latest Software version? Mine is 1.4 but we sometimes get older gear down here in NZ. Thankyou.

Do either of you, when in manuel mode find the channel volume doesn't correspond to it's physical setting? I know in preset mode it isn't supposed to, but I thought in manuel mode it would/should?

Ver. 1.4 is the latest software for the POD.

I thought it was 2.0, but I don't know what I am basing that off of....

My understanding is that when you switch amp models, the channel setting is such that you shouldn't get a huge jump in volume between clean and drive amps and, of course, when a particular amp is just got that massive distortion when the drive is up. This is to help reduce shattered eardrum syndrome, a common ailment suffered by guitar players using guitar equipment that has a headphone jack. LOL. Once you move the knob, though, the channel volume will coorespond to the actual setting. By the way, my posting on the software version is because I have an older POD (ver. 1.1) and I contacted Line 6 to find what was the latest. Anyone living in the continental US with a version older than 1.4 can get the EEPROM chip from Line 6 sent to them FREE. So I bought this used but I will essentially have the newest POD available. Pretty cool.

heres a silly question..how do you know which version of the pod you have ?

No, not silly at all. Turn your POD off (if it is on). Press and continue holding the <manual> button and switch the POD on. Do not release the <manual> button. The LED display will cycle through the "P" "O" "D" letters and than show a "1", "." whatever #. Those three (1.#) are your version number.

Thanks you guys! .. Can any of you tell me why my tempo light still flashes even when on manuel mode with effects set to bypass?

Well, i believe the original question was "software's latest ver.). I just purchased a POD in february/00 and with it came Emagic's Sound Diver 2.0.7; that is what you meant by software I hope. Included in your cd-rom that is installed on the pc should be an automated updated hyperlink that will bring you to their website to update the drivers for this software. You can also go to line 6's website and get the software update there.
