I got me a POD v2.0 a few weeks ago (and love it much), and I'm just starting to get into the serious "tweakage". I'm just wondering if anyone has some cool tricks for getting that 'extra crispy' new metal sound... like Sevendust, Static X, Deftones, etc, especially in the chugggg-chugggg area. The line 6 insane setting sounds alright, but tends to sound a little 'grainy'. I have a DOD death metal that I put through the clean channel and try different speaker models with. I could get a decent sound w/ what I have now, but the sound can never be TOO good. Any pedals, equipment, whatever that I could combine w/ POD to get some beefier guitar tones?

try the rectified settings with the 4x12 cabs. i did a whole album with it. its got a good, even, saturated distortion. not to much highs or lows.... give 'er a try!

A "Hughes & Kettner" Red Box Pro between the guitar and the POD. It took off the graininess without muddying the sound. It also stopped annoying hums and buzzes.

Try backing off a bit on the guitar's volume, maybe around 7 or 8, that will smooth out your sound and make it a little chunkier, experiment with the tone also.

Woh, cool....

Hey, I'll have to try that out..... that sounds like EXACTLY what I need to get to help get a better tone out of the thing.

BTW, I'm using POD live now, and I can FINALLY get the sound I want out of my amp!!!
