Hello!

I've been reading some posts here and I get the impression that GarageBand is viewed as ideal beginner's software for recording on a computer. I used to record at home many years ago on a Fostex 4-track (!!!) and have recently bought a Mac.

I have so far connected my guitar and have been playing around with the built-in amp simulators, but I also tried to connect my Pod 2.0 via midi interface without success. After connecting the Pod 2.0 to the M-Audio Uno, and Uno to USB, I can not generate a signal in GarageBand. The Mac recognises a Midi input, and the Midi signal indicator on the Uno lights up, but the midi indicators are not lit (I also connected the Pod 2.0 from phones socket to audio input on the Mac, and it works fine). I guessed that I needed to change the source in GarageBand but this appears more complicated, if this is the problem.

Am I doing something wrong that is embarrassingly obvious? Perhaps I'm wasting my time and should forget about attempting this? I've done some searching here and elsewhere on the web re the Pod 2.0 and Garageband but to no avail.

you dont want to connect the pod through midi... the midi interface on the pod is used to control settings only. If you want audio you need to attach the audio output of the pod to the audio input of the uno. Midi connections don't pass audio only data.
