is there a certain directory that you need to instal directX plugins in in order to get them to work. i know aobut the refreshing thing but i cant seem to get them to ever work

I don't think so. I've never encountered any problems finding new DX plugs..

nope

to the best of my knowledge...no.

I have several DirectX plugins that I interface with CEP 2.0 and I have never had to install them anywhere in particular.

The default directories are best. I had trouble getting CEP to see all my Waves plugins when I installed them into the same folder that CEP is in. I have no idea why, but a guy on the Syntrillium site told me to reinstall them and just put them wherever the installation program defaulted. They worked fine after that.

I always put my Plugins in C:\audio directory, but some plugins installed in their deffault location. (Usualy C:\Program Files)... all just work fine. Even if they didn't work, they will be listed in Unsupported Plugins...
