I've recently reinstalled Ableton and now when I try to scan for plugins, the little circle next to "Rescan" is spinning forever and nothing shows up in the "Plug-ins" menu in Ableton. I've selected custom folders for the VST2 and VST3 plugins and the files are there but are not recognized by Ableton. I only have 2 plugins at the moment and this shouldn't be a problem but I need help :D. The 2 plugins (Arturia Analog Lab V and TDR Nova) are in folders in "Program files" not in "Program files (x86)". Also when I'm scanning the folders, in the bottom left corner of Ableton says "Scanning plug-ins" but the names of the scanned plugins are not shown. Could there be a problem with the plugins or Ableton itself or am I doing something wrong?

Make sure you have the plugin directory correctly set. I would also, to just double check, find a free plugin to see if that is the issue.

Depending on the plugin, some have to be actually installed. You might want to check if that might be the case that you have to reinstall the plugin. Once again, find a simple plugin that just requires a dll in the directory to see if it gets picked up.

Hope this helps.

I think the directory is correctly set up. The files are in the selected folder but Ableton is not scanning them. I think that Arturia's Analog Lab V and TDR Nova both are .dll files and are free.
