Now this is a LONG shot cos I'm actually having this problem in Nuendo 1.6!

But maybe someone on here knows the answer or could even point me in the right direction/forum

Basically, I bought a new VST plugin and installed it. All easy going. In Nuendo if I go to inserts I can see it, I can also see it in VST Master Effects but it's not appearing in VST Send Effects!?

Does anyone know why some plugins will appear there and some will not? Is there a certain directory they ahve to be in? Is there something to do with dll files? Registry edits on the computer?

Any help would be appreciated!! :)

I dont have any obvious solution as I dont know steinberg products but what version of VST is it and does something as old as nuendo 1.6 support it?

nowadays we're up to VST3's, many less recent VSTs wont work on something that old I dont think

A dumb question, but is your VST an effect you'd 'send' to (such as a reverb) or one you'd typically insert (such as a compressor)? I've no idea if VSTs or their hosts try to be 'sensible' about such things...

not sure if this is what youir asking but you can have a vst on a aux send or as an insert directly in the track...

You use a send if its an effect that more than one track is likely to use as it frees up resources...compression is far more track specific so other than a compression on a very soft setting on the master bus, you are more likely to see them on individual tracks

kcearl - sure thing. I'm just wondering if it's possible for a VST to be coded to be usable as in insert effect but not as a send effect - as a conceivable way to make sense of VC's problem. Which is not to suggest typical VSTs can't be patched in either configuration...

ahh I see what you mean....Ive never came across one...then again my PCs not stuffed full of them either

Sorry for late replies and thanks for all the help!

Its a reverb plugin alright so it would make sense that it would be placed in the VST Send Effects.

I'll check to see if its supported it's just weird that it would show up everywhere else just not there!

Thanks again for the help!
