Hi ive got an epiphone valve junior and get a pretty decent heavy tone with it maxed out. Ive got my old unused marshall mg30 sitting there with a nice 10" speaker in it and am wondering if i can hook up the valve junior's speaker output straight to the marshall's speaker to get a fuller tone? The VJ output is 4ohms and so too is the marshall 10" speaker. Do i just use fairly heavy standard speaker cable?

Many people swear the stock speaker in the Epi is useable, even when compard to much nicer 12"er's like v30's and greenbacks. I'm not sure that cheap ass 10" is going to do anything positive for your VJ.

I hooked it up to the 10" in the MG30, gives a lot more fuller sound, really brings out the tone of the VJ. The combo just sounds too tinny or boxey to me, this did the trick for no £ atall ! will get a 4x12 next and mod the output to 8ohms ....

It should already have an 8ohm out. I had the head and it had seperate 4,8,and 16 ohm jacks. Seriously though, the VJ is probably making that crappy speaker sound better than you've ever heard it. The VJ can push a 4x12 very well but it won't overdrive as much as a single low wattage 12".
