Hi,
I'm looking for a digital recorder to use as a notebook, mostly for song ideas. It doesn't have to be multitrack, and I'd like it to be the size of those digital voice recorders which reporters use (and which themselves are about the size of the old micro/mini cassette recorders).
But I don't want anything that has software that one has to install on a computer: I'd like it to be simple plug & play (i.e. the computer recognizes it as a device like a digital camera which can be copied to and from without going through proprietary software). My MP3 player does this, although, I must admit that it is the only MP3 player that I've ever heard of that doesn't need software installed on a computer and that works on both PC's and Macs.
Any ideas?
