So I updated my UAD-1 software the other day and then loaded up a Sonar 3.0 file that I've been working on, and now none of the plug ins can be found. I think I may have installed the UAD-1 stuff to a new folder or something.

What's the easiest way to fix this? Is there any way to see where the fold should be installed to? Like a map of where Sonar looks for my UAD-1 plugs?

did you update to 4.1 uad-1 software. it does not support directx. The 4.0 does.

Yeah, I downloaded 4.1.0.

So it doesn't support direct x, what does that mean then for using it? Is there something different I have to download, or will 4.1 just flat out not work for Sonar 3.0?

It does not have to do with the version of Sonar I don't think. I have Sonar 5 producer and I cant use 4.1 as my UAD wont show up as I guess it is directX. I then scrapped the 4.1 and downloaded the 4.0 and all is good. It says for 4.1 directx no longer supported on the site.
Hope this helps!

The newer software only supports vst.The old projects plug in settings are looking in the direct X folder, not the vst folder.
Im not sure how to transfer the settings to use vst plugs,I would probably do it individually, making sure to save presets on each plug.

I believe all the Cakewalk plugs are still direct X,so you couldn't just reroute all your plugs.

It seems as though direct X is dead though.

I have a UAD-1 but I'm still on 3.8 or something like that.I never changed because I have dial up and it's like a gazilllion megabites.Plus every thing is working fine on my computer,I've had too many probems with loading new drivers just to find out they didn't work right.

I wouldn't mind trying out some of those demos though.
