Plug-ins for Guitar emulation, amp modeling

What do you guys use? I want to get more of an electric guitar sound with my electric violin, and my quadraverb doesnt cut it.
I tried a few plugins, and they sounded terrible. Any ideas?
I have Sonar.
 
Line 6 (the POD people) has just come out with a product called Guitar Port. I don't know if the software is a PC version of their Amp Farm software (which is a TDM plug-in that's been out for a couple of years now) or what.

No John, not yet. I went for Sonar instead of XL. Probably a mistake, but I really felt burned when I got Pro Audio Deluxe, what a waste of money. I will check it out, thanx.
 
AL, I just read about that thing today. Looks interesting. I laughed at the optional online jam session thing, sounds like guitar Karaoke!
 
Take your violin to the music store and plug it into a real POD.
I think you might be surprised!
