this is my set up and I just ordered sonar xl.....can this machine handel sonar effecitively...???any thoughts anyone...

Cakewalk website shows specs as

Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows ME, or Windows 2000 (one of the last three is necessary to run WDM drivers)
400 MHz processor
64 MB RAM
100 MB free hard disk space
800x600 screen resolution/256 colors
CD-ROM drive (for installation)

Yes., although I've never /used/ SONAR, so I can't be completely sure, but using Pro audio 9 as a guide, sure.

You'll probably be limited in the number of real time effects and softsynths you can use.

Also...does your operating system and audio hardware have/support WDM drivers?
