what is plf on my tascam m-312? can't tell what it dose when i turn it on.

You mean PFL? It means pre-fader level. Pre-fader means "the point in the circuit of a mixer channel that's just before the audio signal enters the fader. Any circuits connected at or before this point are not affected by the setting of the fader."
