Uh..Richie..

The Top 100 Awesomely Bad Songs of the '80's called: they want their #1 song back.

Kidding, let's be constructive here. If you want comments, you'll get them here by the boatload - and it's not gonna be pretty!.

Honestly, I can't even tell you where to begin. The whole thing sounds like it was done by an amateur in 1984. The overprocessed guitar, the dated drum and keyboard sounds, the god awful lyrics (I'm in love with you when you're not here?), and the washed out gravelly voice. I'm not that familiar with synth or techno pop, but I'd venture to say that you're not really in the ballpark yet. I don't intend to be harsh or mean-spiritied (don't let Jake-owa or Simon Cowell within 10 feet of this). Keep trying and good luck.

Hey Richie,

It's rhythmically tight, and nicely arranged and mixed.

But stylistically, I think the slightly rough and breathy quality of the vocals would sound great in a setting of more angular, sparse instrumental backing. I'd drop the processing on the voice, use an elec gtr w/no reverb, delay or chorusing, keep the Batman bass as it is - it's pretty cool sounding with your voice, and generally go for more of a Dylan sound.

Just an opinion FWIW.

try going back and taking all the effects off.

it is kinda a hard one cause, well direct git, direct bass, fake kit,

it would help a lot if (i realize not all options are open to all people)
you miced an amp up

just the start of a seriously long gear binge (it takes years)

Thanks guys. My stuff is all over the place in styles. I get mixed reviews all the time. Some love it and some don't... no biggie. Thanks for listening! :)
