I'm in high school right now, and am trying to decide what I want to do, and want to know if people think if I work at it I can hopefully one day become a singer. Though I don't want to make a decision and regret because I could never be good enough. So if its not an inconvenience could you please help judge my singer and give constructive advice/criticisms. Thanks :)
For some reason it won't let me post youtube links, so if you wouldn't mind searching "try to remember-The fantasticks by Wilson" and it should be the second one, its the one of the guy in front of the whiteboard
Thank you so much!
if someone who can post youtube links could post it I would really appreciate it!
Sorry If I did something wrong, or if I'm not supposed to post things like this here, I just want to know if singing is something worth pursuing :D
Please answer honestly, and any tips would be greatly appreciated :)

You have a fine voice. It has a rich character and holds pitch well. It is a voice suited to musical theatre.

However, the performance itself was a bit static. Perhaps this was the nature of where you were and the technology you had available.

But, even so, it's not too hard to create an interesting video through adding a bit of theatre. For example, a more interesting room would help. And maybe you could move around a bit, even interact with the pianist.

Being a singer means having vocal ability, but it also means knowing how to engage the listener.

And also to make the listener believe in your performance. This includes giving everything you have. A voice only is likely not to move another (aside from parents and close friends). Make them 'feel' the performance like it makes you feel. Just my thoughts...

Rich voice - def suited to M/Theatre or Elliot Gould style balladry.
Boring song, video and performance though.
Given the static nature and background noise/hiss you'd have been better off posting audio only.

Thank you gecko zzed for posting the video
Yeah it probably would have been better to just post audio, but I was working with what I had, and don't worry I'm not so stiff when I actually preform like in a show, but I was trying to just focus on singing i recorded this, which in retrospect probably wasn't a great idea, but oh well :)
Thanks everybody for the advice

I think your singing is great.

And people who are great in whatever they do has a burning passion for what they do. They don't care if they make money or others think they are good. They do it because that's what keeps them breathing. If you have that passion, nothing can stop you. IMO, the majority in this world do something for a living that they hate!

But I admire how you are thinking and planning your future at your age. I would advise learn something music related. So even if singing doesn't work, you can still do what you like and still make a decent living.

And there are some amazing singers who were given some 'honest' opinion that they were pretty bad at singing in the early years. And then there are good singers with great potential who just didn't make it.
