please?

i would return feedback but i only have internet at work right now and cant listen

Sounds good. I would rise the vocals a bit, and add more highs to the overall mix. I don;t know if that's a drum loop, but if it's not, I'd seperate the drums a bit and make the snare punchier.

Too lofi for my tastes.

Vocals sound cheap to me. Need more top end on them.

Hook is too repetitive. Gets old fast. Needs something to keep interest.

I like the mood and what's going behind the vocals. Mix needs more air and seperation.

thanks for the feedback.....

i appreciate it... i do have a few more questions/comments

first for the chorus/hook, at least at the end of the song, there will be a DJ scratching some vocal samples to end it on an energetic note...

but as far as the mixing...we will be having the track mastered, and is there anything you suggest doing to the track/vocals before mastering the album. Terms like "air" "separation" "top end" i am not really familiar with. Ive heard them used, and seen a poor mans glossary of the terms, but i cant listen to a track and distinguish what it needs.

Is this something i need to worry about if sending vocals/instrumental seperately, or will this be handled during the mastering stage

Terms like "air" and "top-end" refer to the highest frequencies audible to the human ear. An abundance of these frequencies will give the illusion of clarity, brilliance, and space. An over-abundance, however, will result in silibance and harshness.

Distinguishing what a track "needs" necessitates a good ear, and most of all, experience. Try listening to your favorite albums, or just a well-produced one, and compare it to the songs you've recorded. Although, surely, million-dollar albums recorded at professional studios won't be as slick as one produced on a budget, but it may give you a feel of what your songs need--or don't.
