Hi All: I have recently bought 2 used UAD PCI-1 cards. My current computer has 3 PCI slots. 1 is being used by my delta 1010 soundcard. I record live, 4 tracks and use the LA2A, Plate Reverb, PultecEQ on each track. The problem I am in the process of doing a 14 day demo with the Neve 1081 and can only use it on 2 tracks. I have to use the 1081SE on the other 2, and can only use the LA2A on 3 tracks. If I ad anything else, it overloads. I am wanting to do my mixing with all tracks functioning with the LA2A, Neve 1081, PLate Reverb.
I am wondering if my computer is causing the plugins to overload due to a lack of horsepower, or do I need a 3rd card to run the above all at once. Or, should I buy a used computer with the PCI slots that is more beefed up. I was thinking the PCI slots would make buying a beffed up used one fairly cheap. I know very little about computers, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Here is my computer system- windows XP home edition, Intel R Celeron(R) CPU 2.40 GHZ 2.40GHZ, 504 MB of Ram, Samplitude Classic 8.1 recording software.
Thanks. Walter
