Hey,
Just got my Roland RS-70 with USB output for midi. All connected properly, installed the right way etc. etc.

In Hardware - Device Manager I can see the RS-70 in the list, with no special mark or something. But when I go to Sound/ Audio Devices to assign the RS-70 for MIDI input/ output, it is not in the list, there are only the standard wavetables etc.

What can I do to get it in that list and actually use it? Thanks a lot!!

If you installed it the right way you wouldnt be posting this thread :D
Did you read the manualfor the Roland? Break out your computer manual too, it may give you some heads-up on USB compatibility issues with certain things.

The poster was after some product-specific info, not "Read The F***ing Manual" :D

I don't have anything to offer him. Do you?

Does your RS-70 come up as a MIDI input in any software (sequencer, soft synth, etc?) My Audio and Sound Devices doesn't have anywhere to designated a midi input, just a 'default MIDI music playback', which you certainly don't want a USB controller keyboard to play

Cause in reality, unless you want a GM module to play standard MIDI files from the internet (like those in e-cards, etc), and you can somehow hook that up through a USB controller, I don't think you need to worry if Windows makes your keyboard a default anything.

Well, it's neither coming up in sequencer software, only the MPU-401 kind of stuff. It drives me crazy. The f_cking manual I read a dozen of times, and uninstalled, installed etc. etc. etc.

According to this manual, it should be in the 'hardware' list in system properties, and in the list of midi outputs in control panel..
