Hi,

This is my second post here with the same track. Now i've overdubbed the lead vocal. But i have al lot of problems with fitting that vocal in the mix.
What's this a difficult hobby ;( What ever i try it sounds never proffessional.
What's a good reverb/delay setting for this type of music/vocal....

Then it's to wet and next time i change some things it's to dry....

Please can somebody give me some tips and please be honnest about
this mix. I want to learn a lot from you guys ;)

This is the MP3 is at:

Thanks,

Jeroen

Settings for the FX's:
Reverb: TC-Electronics M-OneXL: Plate1, Decay 3sec, predelay 15ms, size medium, highcut 15khz
Delay: PSP Lexicon 42: 560 msec, feedback 10 o'clock

I've tryed to make the lead vocal better.
Please respond to me...what do you people think?
What can i, or must i change to make it sound better.

Thanks,

Jeroen

Your sound's much better than what I have been able to achieve, so I can't really offer much technical feedback. I just wanted to say I like the sound and the song. One thing I noticed is I thought the main backup vocalist's "You are life" harmonies were flat the first 2 times after coming out of the sax solo. If those were meant to be intentional "blue notes", they didn't really work for me. Song gets a bit repetitive, but for a church service or sing-along, that's usually a good thing.

We need to retrack the backingvocals...so we can then leave it...good idea.

We have the same feeling...don't know what to do about it....maybe leave the accapella part out...

Thanks again for your listening.

In a few spots (very few admittedly) the the tune would blur, like the drummer and bass would play out of sync. The sax solo is the weak link here. It has no growl to it, no attitude. Just plain white bread. Definately a white guy playing. :D The backing vocal feels a little loose too in spots. The mix feels good though as far as levels go. Good guitar work.

Rat,

The sax and backing vocals where just playing at that moment for the rest of the band. We had already planned an overdub for sax and vocals.
But thanks for your comment, now he know's what to do....go into the sun and get a nice skin colour ;)

When i have the overdubs done, i will post another version.

Thanks,

Jeroen
