I LOVE logic, but sometimes its not very......well logical.

My question, im trying to experiment with making hip-hop beats, and i KNOW that you can create loops in logic, but the book i have and the "help" feature dont lay it out very well.

I want to do alot, but what at the moment i just want to record a couple bars of live drums, and then loop them over and over, now i know how to do this by cutting and pasting it, but is there a "short cut", theres jsut gotta be, it would be counterintuitve to not have a simple option like that, right?

I know how to loop the recording, like say you want to keep passing by a part of the song to dial in some toms or whatever, but how do it loop a few tracks, in time, and then record or whatever under that??

im sure its simple and im just missing its simplicity!

It's pretty straightforward on my copy of logic (7.2 - don't have much experience with earlier versions so can't vouch for this method working with them).

Select the region you're wanting to loop, and put the mousepointer to the right hand side of it between 2/3 and 3/4 of the way up. A little icon will appear when you've hit the spot - a vertical line with a circle joined onto the right of it. Click and drag the mouse, and pull to the right. You get grey 'dead' regions following the real one, and they're the looped versions of the original.

Hope that does the trick for you!
