Hi, I just bought a new soundcard and a v-amp2 and still I can't record properly in Cubase. This is my setup: the guitar is connected to the preamp, wich is connected to my soundcard. The output of my soundcard is connected to my stereo. When I play something it sounds great, but when I play a recorded track back in Cubase the volume is much to low. Please help a newbe set up his gear properly. Thanx.

Hi Laynestaley,

What is your pc/preamp/soundcard? If it's a soundblaster
series soundcard perhaps your soundblaster mixer is not set
up correctly. What kind of signal are you getting from the
mixer in Cubase when you record...and when you play back?

Hi man@work, thanks for the reply.
I'm using an midiman audiophile 24/96 on my Intel Celeron 1,2 Ghz, 256 MB RAM, and a V-amp2 as preamp (witch is great btw!).
I'm really a newby, especially in cubase, but the the signal seems to be ok in both cases.

No problem

First of all check the monitor mixer in the Midman control panel (in your Windows control panel) to see if any of the faders are muted and/or turned down. If they are turn up/and or unmute all channels and save your changes. If this was not the problem and you have not already done so, download the latest drivers from www.m-audio.com Make sure you also download the driver uninstaller program and follow the instructions that they provide.
The problem could also be in your monitoring from your stereo
system. Where are the line outs from the audiophile connected
to in your stereo amp?

I've heard some good things about the V-amp 2. I just might
try one out.....ya can't beat the price!!

Good luck!
Mike
