Please somebody help me!

I own a Delta 1010LT PCI Interface and I am having trouble getting it connected and working. The midi portion works fine but, I want my Rockit 5 monitors, my Sonar 6 Studio Edition Software, my Yamaha DGX-202 portable grand piano, Roland U220 Module and my Yamaha AW1600 hard disk recorder to be able to talk to each other.

As you can tell I've spent some money (actually, I have a really wonderful wife who buys me equipment for birthday's and Christmas - not getting rid of her ;)), I don't know entirely what I'm doing and the store sales people are no help - they just want to sell us more equipment. I've seen people record with less equipment and achieve a real nice sound. I want to do the same with what I have!

What is the best configuration for this equipment?

Thank you for replying to me!
Yes, from the little bit I know of the program, yes I am able to get sounds in Sonar. I am still learning the program however, the other inputs right now of Delta 1010LT are just hanging. Right now my monitors are connected to another small external mixer that I own. I would like to connect the monitors to the DELTA 1010.

I would like to configure everything to work together!

Thank you very much for replying.

if you are mixing in the box I'd just bring back the main L/R signal from sonar to your mixer and hook your monitors up to the mixer outputs. That way you have a volume control over them.

Why do you have a hard disk recorder if you're using sonar? If you're sending signal through the 1010 into sonar to be recorded it would make sense to leave it there in the DAW rather than route it back out to a hard disk recorder?

Maybe I'm missing something with your setup.

I don't what mixing in the box is. Please enlighten me!

I got the Sonar and the AW1600 at the same time and I am learning both. I got the AW1600 because I play Hammond organ. I idea is to record organ, vocals and possible live drums. Then incorporate all parts together with midi and/or wav. files.

I saw somebody elses studio - thats what they do! Not necessarily with the same equipment but equipment that is similar. I thought it would be nice to have a piece of gear that is mobile and then I can bring it back with stuff recorded outside the studio and meld with what is in the studio.

Ok, so you're only using the aw1600 to capture (external) sounds? In that case you'll need to connect the outputs of the aw1600 to the line-in jacks of the 1010lT. If the aw1600 has 8 outputs, you can connect each one and record each to a separate track in Sonar. If it only has stereo outs, then you'll only be able to record onto 2 tracks.

The Yamaha DGX-202 will connect to the midi input of your 1010LT.

With the Roland, you've got the choice (I believe) of using either the audio outs (connected to the line inputs on the LT) if you want to use its synth sounds, or the midi out if you want to drive a soft syth in Sonar. Either way it will mean unplugging either the aw1600 or the yamaha.

For your monitors, you can either connect them directly to the LT outputs 1 & 2, or connect them to your mixer and send outputs 1 & 2 to your mixer's tape in jacks
