Okay so... I have the ddrum triggers (199.99) 5 piece...

Now, What sound module should i get? I would be going out of the sound module via MIDI then into my Mbox into Pro tools...

I heard the DM5 was decent... I dont want to spend more than 400 dollars... the Alesis DM5 is 350... But i heard that I can get any ghost notes when i play my acoustic set... is this true? If so... is there any other sound module that can give me at least some of those quiet ghost notes to make it feel more like a real drummer?...

The cheapest thing would probably be to buy a used Alesis D4 module, they work great... or the later ones, which have better bandwidth if you can afford it, but really the original D4 sounded good (it was 16 bit) and they're going for between $100 and 150 on eBay.

A lot of it was that the drums they sampled were good.

you're not telling me to get the D4 instead of the D5 right?...

Would the D5 give me those ghost notes or not?

If you mean ghost notes in the traditional sense, i.e. the first note of a flam, the D4 will do that as it's velocity sensitive. I'm not really sure what you mean because all drum modules I know of do that.

The D5 is better (18-bit) than the D4 (16-bit) but the D4 is still a good module that works fine. There are features in the later versions which may or very well may not make that big a difference to you.

The higher the bits the more real it sounds.

Hey guys thanks for the responses!

Yeah an engineer I work with told me about "Drumagog"? its a software and ive heard it do miracles but the thing is that i only have 2 inputs on my M boX... so i cant record the drums more than 2 mics... if i get the DM5 i can just record it using midi then edit from pro tools...

anyways thanks a lot for the advice!
