Hello. First of all, if i am the millionth guy who posts these questions, i am sorry in advance. I simply need a bit of help.

I have an EMU XK-6. I have a solid computer - 1.7 with 512 RDRAM, 2x60gig 7500 RPM drives running Windows 2000. Thats about all.

I need to be able to record music off my EMU onto my computer in exactly the same way i have it leaving the EMU, meaning, no distortion, loss of quality etc. I would like to be able to record a single track or loop at a time and then simply stitch everything together on the PC. I have some software like cubase, etc.

What hardware/modles do i need to buy to complete the task? I am on a strict $600 budget.

Thank you in advance for your help.

would an M-Audio Omni Studio w/Delta 66 do the job?

Don't you have an audio card on your computer? Just get a 1/4" to 1/8" cable and plug it in.

Use the search engine for the million answers to this question.

The Delta 66 is an excellent choice and will serve you well.

yeah, i used the search engine for an hour or so, thats how long it took me to find this forum. I was hoping you guys would help.

Point...you have come to the best BBS around for homerecording.
Although some folks are short and blunt you will eventually find your answers.
As I said, the 66 will work well. Analog inputs as well as sp/dif.
If you have Cubase your all set to go.

I wasn't trying to be an ass, I meant it.

If you are serious enough to buy hardware you should get a simple cable and all the demo version software you can and try stuff out. That way you know what platform you will be recording in and compatability will be another small search at your chosen software vendor's site.

BTW when I said search I meant the BBS search not Google (which fortunately brought you here):)

There is a great newbie section here you will love.
