i do love smilies...
hey,

i just finished the first project on my nice new pootah! :) and thought i'd let you all have a listen, and i would appreciate any comments/positive criticism you could give. the only things i ask you to bare in mind are that i'm Not a singer, and so try not to let that ruin things for you... :P also, the drums are something of a draft too, i did them with one bass drum mic and an overhead, and though i'm fairly happy with the overall sound, i feel the bass drum could do with being miced better, and a snare drum mic, and possibly stereo rather than mono overheads would give a much fuller punchier sound.

everything else is either the packaged soft synths in Cubase, or recorded in my room/booth with a Studio Projects B1 and the preamps in a Yamaha MG12/4 mixer.

i was going for a mixture of Radiohead and Sigur Ros, if that helps at all.

enjoy :)

Very experimental indeed :p and has a bit psychadelic also very nice. Althout I know you said that you're not a singer, but vocals are somewhat wrong in mix their to low and seem just to add unecessairy noise. Push em or something or just completly cut them and add lead instruments instead. In general keep up with those acid riffs :D

hehe,

thankyou muchos!

it's going to be taken to the band next rehearsal, and we'll have a bash through it.

it'll become Much more lo-fi. less synths, less guitar lines, less trombone... our singer is a well trained tenor, rather than my bassy untrained mumbling. so the vocals should sound much tighter and open.

thanks again,

Andy
