ok this is what i have gathered from suggestions and reading reviews and what not.

M Audio SP5B 70 Watt Nearfield Monitors
Shure KSM27 Studio condenser mic (vocals)
Shure KSM109 condenser mic (acosutic guitar)
sonar 2.0
behringer eurorack MX1804X Mixer w/digital efx
Gateway PC 300series 80gig 7200

If you see anything wrong with this setup or would like to suggest something better please do.

oh and im stumped on which kind of soundcard to get.

You can get the studiophile SP8's now for the price of the 5's if Im not mistaken.
I own a KSM27 and its a great mic for instrument and vocals.

Look into the M-audio soundcards and interfaces to complement your SP's. You could go with an Audiophile for tracking one at a time or the delta 44 or 66 or 1010 for multiple inputs.
