Please Comments on my production work..

Mean average best idiot..
I was given a tune to mix and master , but i couldn't help myself as i found the song very boring and typically "Rock"

the lyrics were about "making it big" it think,

i re-interpertd it and am calling my version "Zombi_Attack_18days" and re-interpreted the lyrics as a person turning into a zombi and taking over the world.

of course all of this is terribly incorrect to do to someone elses song but as i don't give a shit (and never will) and i was mixing it for free , i thought i'd just do what i thought sounded "right".

i don't plan on doing anything with it (unless the band & managment want to) so it will never be played outside this forum, but i will show you what i was given as "tracks"....(i use the "" for good reason.) and you can tell me if it was an improvment.

i'd love some feedback.

I know it is very compressed i used Pearl Jam's first Breakerfall off Binaural, with producer Tchad Blake and his binaural recording technic anyhow that as a reference..

it's also a little bassy, but anyhow. this is due to the improted vodka i was drinking ( i took a risk and brought a Swedish vodka instead of the premium Russian, i lost out big)

I will post them both up soon.

1. the original "mix" of all the raw track i was given "see us comming"

2. My version. "Zombi Atttack 18 days"

... naa sorry yeah still a little otherwise effected, watch sun rise today just went for a drive there is a little too much "space" around the drums but that's how they were "tracked" omg the tracking was so bad. lol i'm sorry i'm glad they won't see this, it was some of the worst tracking i've ever heard. it was done for $200 at some dudes house that ripped them off. he also refused to mic the toms lol.

anyhow i'll post as soon as i can.

although it's "aging" well, ie. the more i drink, the better it tastes.

i drink vodka at room temp. (congrats do you want some sort of medal)

(well, yes actually the "i drink vodka at Room temp limited edition chest medalion" would be a start!)

well that is a relif i wouldn't want those english getting cocky plus they can't play cricket, anyhow so, that probably takes away from the whole "cradle of civilisation" thing.

Anyhow i was wondering, (as i was just discussing it):

how did the principal of holding a Mic to an instrument to record it's sound get lost on so many people??

I mean ?? is this rocket science? you point the mic at the instrument ?

And if you're splashing out on "nerdiness" you play or hit the instument and see what it sounds like before RECORDING?!!!!!!

I mean, what a concept!!!

WOW how come so many people get it so wrong?

do they all get the the point of placing the Mics and say:

"look, Jeff I KNOW WHAT I'm meant to Do, i'm meant to FACE THE MiC to the Instument, BUT....today i'm going to face it at the Ground or the wall because i think the "Room" has a better sound than the actual instument."

Or maybe...

"LOOK don't give me Any of that Mic'ing Procedure (the one that says i point it at the instument) I KNOW BOATS, my artistic power will transfer the sound to the recording device WITHOUt THE USE OF A mic pointing at the instument!"

Thanks FDM (but wait there more!) went all out and turn it into an ultra pop version the original tracks hardly represent themselves, but to me it's so much better, i'll post it up soon thanks for the not mentioning the lobal-Ga orces-fa of arkness-da.

basically thats why we have this special problem down here with Hats i mean they are important to us because of the said UV rays so when we keep "misplacing" them it's a real issue. know what i mean brother.
