Many different people utilize different methods to help create a "mood" when they are practicing or recording music. You all know about colored lights and such as well as dim lightning and atmosphere.

There is a rare method that I hear more and more women are using.. and that's called playing drums completely naked. Have any of you drummers ever locked the studio door and just.. you know.. peeled off all your clothes and did some old fashioned rudimentary drumming?

I never thought I'd be posting this in a public forum, but my old punk band did naked band practice a couple times. It is a way different vibe for sure.

While you're playing you pay way less attention to what you're playing and turn on an autopilot of sorts because you are too focused on being self conscious. It helps for live performances when things may be going crazy and you can then manage to stay on beat.

just my $.02

Maybe with a cloth seat - I wouldn't want to try in on vinyl :D

when i was recording my tribal drum cd i recorded naked. naked kicks ass.

I've recorded in just my underwear. Mainly due to the heat.

I quite like the odd rehearsal in complete darkness. Now that can get trippy. :)

Were you wearing a mask? ........lol...I had to. :D

when i can i try to play drums wearing as little as possible. clothes kinda restrict playing i think, you feel alot more free to move naked.

Have any of you sat on your balls while playing naked?
Just a guitarists question.

if the rooms small enough, tryin smokin' some cigars, drinkin' a few and dimmin' the lights, loosins' ya up better than a 1/2 hr warmup.

Y'ever take a shower naked?

That's real excitement right there

Haha

I have a hard enough time playing without a shirt on on my h535. It gets a little too sticky and likes to almost rip my belly hair off. Talk about being one with the instrument :D. Nitro sucks...other than that, I would do it more often.
Peace
