Playback sounds horrible!!!

Sorry to post this again but I lost track of my original post.

I have been having a problem with playback with sonar2. Whenever I import audio or record via a line in from my daw the output is this kind of stretched distorted thoroughly screwed mash. I have run the wave profiler....did not solve the problem.

I have a brand new 2.4 P4

What do you see ? I mean did you see any cliping sound, or something wrong with the visual wave displayed ?

The wave looks ok. Its just weird because this problem happens with any input, yet when monitoring the sound is fine... Its not like clipping---its more like someone ran the sound through a garbage disposal------Incidentally acid has no problem recording.

Have you tried dissable input monitoring ?

Options --> Audio --> Input Monitoring.

It often occur if you activate both Input monitoring & playback in windows mixer.

yeah, input monitoring is off...this is something else ....having to do incompatibilities with format I think. I must have changed a setting or something.
