playback problems

This is strange...I will try to explain.

I use Reaper and haven't had problems up until this week. I plug my guitar into a mixing board then run it out into the input of the computer. The guitar comes through my computer speakers, so I know that it is hooked up ok.

However, when I check the input levels in Reaper, I do not get any level at all...like it doesnt see it (even though I can hear it.) That is the first issue. I have tried all the different input check boxes in the sound manager, but nothing has worked.

The other issue (maybe related) is when I open a saved project, then click play, it says its playing, but the cursor does not move and no sound comes out.

I dont know if it is a software issue, or a hardware issue. Anyone heard of this? Any help would be nice.

could maybe be a driver conflict???? just kinda shootin in the dark here.


have you installed any new hardware and/or software a short time before or after the problem first started?



and did you check that your audio interface is set at the default device in both reaper and in your system settings??
