Playback malfunction

I have a VF160 EX I mostly get along with.. Recently and for no apparent reason playback is lopsided to the left channel.. PHones & monitors.. right side has barely audible volume left seems normal.. anyone have a clue what might be going on here? Thanks

Nothing fried.. Level meters show balanced signal L/R but the actual audio from the right channel is perhaps 5% of what the left side is.
Seems to be some kind of illusive digital glitch I don't understand.
