Whenever i play music through my motu 828, sometimes the audio gets stuck and plays. anyone experienced this??

Yea.

Mine has this thing where when I hit "play," the audio plays. And then when I hit "stop," it stops.

Annoying as hell.
.

The audio playback gets some interruptions in the signal. i'm looking for possible problems here...the buffer size on the motu is set to 768, so it shouldnt be a problem for pops and crackles. im thinking that the transfer process of the motu to my pc through firewire is getting stuck. someone please help...

I normally don't like helping out people who act like idiots on the mic forum. But then again, everyone acts like idiots on the mic forum. So I'll cut you a break and throw you a bone this time.

What you very likely have is an IRQ sharing problem.

This link deals with just this sort of problem, at great length and in detail:

http://www.pcmus.com/irq.htm

You also might try going to the home page and reading up on maximizing Windows XP for Audio. It's worth it.

Good luck
.

OK guys, here's the problem that comes up in Cuemix:

"Cuemix state is not in sync because the audio stream is not locked"

How do i lock the audio stream then?

Ok, so..no one knows?
Did you follow the link Chessrock posted?

If not, why not?

If so, what did you learn?

yes i have...

The only pci card i have installed is the firewire card on slot 2.

Also, i owned the m-audio firewire 410 and i never experienced this sort of problem...with the same pci firewire card as well...could this be a faulty motu 828?

Could be --- anything's possible. But in my experience MOTU is one of the most reliable brands.

Were you having success with the MAudio interface on this same comp?

Yup...had pure success with the maudio..

thing is that..the motu i got was an used one. maybe thats why.......?

I had that problem with Cuemix when I tried to use the talkback function. I worked with Tech Support (this was at least a year ago), and the end result was that when they updated the drivers, I didn't have the problem anymore. I don't remember their explanation as to why it wasn't working. Talkback/Listenback in CueMix works fine now though, and I don't get that error anymore. So I would say make sure you have the most updated drivers to begin with. I would also suggest e-mailing that question to MOTU tech support. And while I'm not trying to turn this thread into a debate about the merits (or lack their of) of MOTU Tech Support, it worked for me.

Woahh finally man...I called up tech support..they told me to replace my current drivers(new) with the Win 2K 3.4 driver(older one). though im running a XP machine...the motu is finally working smoothly! god...this feels awesome! thanks everyone!
