First hello and thanks for your responses in advance... Always appreciated..
I just recently purchased a PowerBook2000 G3...
It has:

Standard HardDrive (10GIG)
256Meg of Ram
Using Internal Mac Audio SoundCard
Using AMT-8 USB interface...
And Logic Audio Gold 4.6
(It's the one that has FireWire with all the accoutrements)

This evening a charged it up for my first customer and was pleasantly surprised that it worked wonderfully - HOWEVER - there were a few thoughts of concern for me....

1) The internal HardDrive... Does anyone know how fast these things are? As I understand it - It is a Toshiba 10gig HardDrive... But, I can't figure out what the "platter spin speed" is... I believe it's 4800 RPM...

This seems rather slow for audio - And the only speeds I've seen for internal notebook HardDrives are 4800RPM... Is this "equivalent" to a 7200RPM 3-1/2 HardDrive speed?

However, the Pismo did great with a song that had a ton of effects and about 14 Tracks worth of Audio...

Fast Enough? You tell me...
Do I need a FireWire HardDrive?

2) This brings me to my second observation...
When recording in Logic, twice this evening I got a "Mac Internal AV Error"... I don't have a clue what this means - But I selected "OK" and the unit started working on the next audio pass without incident...

Something I should be concerned with?

Lastly, I've been wanting to get a larger HardDrive - Like maybe a 30Gig internal... If the spin speed is 4800 and the access time is only 12ms.... Is this a good buy? Should I just be looking into a FireWire HardDrive? Like one from VST perhaps?

I have to admit I've been really pleased with the performance I saw tonight... It seems even faster than the iMacDV I was using!

Any comments you might have would be greatly appreciated...
