Basically the Pintech Spirit USA kit vs the HD Prodigy.

After spending half a fortune trying to make everything from oatmeal can to a keyboard stool sound like drums I've decided to buy a set of either the Pintech or HD digital drums. I plan on using a DM5 module to send midi to a pc where I can use any sampled drum sound I like.

Does anyone here have any experience with these kits? Which ones are better? No one in town has either of these so I'm gonna' have to go by word of mouth. I was a decent drummer 20 years ago and anythings gotta' be better than banging the crap out of my Triton :D

Thanks IA
Dennis

Any electronic kit will do if your only using them for midi data. I cant find info on the Prodigy but the Pintech has the same pads I use with my elec. kit from S&S Industries. They hold up very well and have a good feel with real heads and a good bounce back. Im assuming your not getting the brain and going with a D5. And Im also assuming your only using the kit for midi sequences and using samples from CD samplers. If so, then the Pintech kit would be sufficient.

Thanks Stealthtech !

The prodigy set is from Hart Dynamics. They are supposed to be decent and are about 300 bucks cheaper that the pintechs.

Thanks for the help.

Rick Allen, arguably the worlds most famous electronic drummer, plays Hart...
